Preferences ​

App-wide settings, separate from any project. Open with Cmd+, (macOS, under Caddis → Settings…) or Ctrl+, (Windows, under Edit → Preferences…). Changes apply immediately — there's no Save step — and persist per machine.

Appearance ​

Text Size ​

Scales text throughout the interface, from 100% up to 140%. The default is the size the UI was designed at; step up if you find labels and parameter values too small. Only type scales — panels, controls, and spacing keep their size, and the viewport and node graph (which have their own zoom) are unaffected.

Text Contrast ​

Default keeps the design's muted label palette. High brightens labels, secondary text, and input values across the app for readability — surfaces, accents, and semantic colors are unchanged, so the app still looks like itself.

Shortcuts ​

Rebind any keyboard shortcut: every command is listed by area (Transport, Tools, Node Graph, Timeline, …) with its current binding. See the Keyboard Shortcuts reference for the defaults.

  • Rebind — click a shortcut, then press the new key combination. Esc cancels the recording. Recording the default combination simply removes the customization.
  • Search — filters by command name, area, or the binding itself.
  • Conflicts — if the keys you press are already used by another command in the same context, nothing changes until you decide: Take Over moves the shortcut here (the other command loses it — becoming unbound if it was its only binding), Keep Both assigns it while leaving the other in place (legitimate when context separates them — with keyframes selected H sets Hold interpolation, otherwise it's the Pan tool), or Cancel. Bindings scoped to different panels never conflict.
  • Reset — the Reset button next to a customized binding restores that command's default (including unbound ones); Reset All restores everything.
  • Fixed shortcuts — menu-bound file actions (Save, Open, New…) and structural keys (Escape, Undo/Redo) can't be rebound yet, Take Over can't claim their keys, and the recorder refuses to assign a menu combination (like Ctrl/Cmd S) to another command — the menu intercepts those keys before they could ever reach it.

Customizations are stored per machine and survive updates — anything you haven't customized follows the app's defaults as they evolve.
